Abstract: | Innovative technology has become a hot topic in recent years. Promoting advanced technology and innovation, education is the foundation for cultivating innovative talents and promoting social progress. Therefore, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education is becoming more and more popular in the world. However, STEM education is still limited, students can only have a chance to try it in school. The purpose of this project is to introduce a new method of learning STEM to meet the needs of students for STEM learning. Game-based learning (GBL) will be a way to achieve personalized learning for primary school students in an interesting way. Moreover, algebra is one of the subjects that highly relevant to the STEM. By combining algebra and games would be an effective way to learn STEM. This project includes two games, one is a chatbot game embedded in Facebook Messenger that provides a convenient way to start the game. Another game is a visual browser game to provide interesting interactions with the player. In this game, the game AI will solve the equation by using some choices. Some algorithms such as greedy algorithm, dynamic programming are used to find the optimal solution efficiently. In conclusion, the proposed games are designed to attract students and develop their interest in STEM. |
