Abstract: | Without doubt, Internet has become more and more essential to our daily use. With the advantages of the internet, cloud technology and other exist frameworks, we are able to create a wide range of online platforms and use it to serve for different aspects with different interactions and functions. This has also developed us a huge interest in building software for our final year project. In this project, we choose Metagenomics data for the data visualization since Metagenomics data is highly important to bioinformatics study. These data can be used to study the microorganisms from the natural samples without cultivation and it can help researchers to consolidate biological information with comparing the traditional methods. Yet, current data visualization on Metagenomics is not comprehensive enough for suitable use because of different reasons which will be introduced in later section. Therefore, we hope that through creating this platform to visualize these data, researchers and end-users are easily figure out the data from the graph and export the desired format for their graph with only uploading the data by following the templates. We have split our project into three major parts, data processing, visualization and other interactions with the graph. This project aims at providing a cloud-based platform by integrating and utilizing existing tools provided by Dr. Li together with his team as well as other frameworks so that users are allowed to upload their data and visualize the in meaningful graphs. At the same time, we create our own API server to serve as a data processing tool. The nature of the graph is mainly surrounded with Heat-map, Scatter-Plot, Box-Plot and Network Diagram. In long term, we expect public users can access to the platform and upload their own data for Metagenomics data visualization. It is also aiming at addressing the problem from current data visualization problems which can be tackled through continuous development of the platform. |
