Abstract: | Course instructors often find it challenging to engage students during class sessions when the course has a relatively large enrollment and it is theory focused. Classroom lectures have limitations to help students develop critical thinking skills, improve analytical skills, and deepen understanding of theories and practices. This is because lectures usually make students passive receivers of knowledge, rather than active participants in knowledge exchange. This project aims at setting up a platform for comparison- and workshop-based learning through two approaches: (1) combining lecture and site visit, and (2) in a workshop format, comparing Hong Kong and overseas cases of similar topic. |
