Abstract: | To cultivate the next generation life scientists for Hong Kong, it is essential to develop biology major undergraduates the critical scientific literature review skills. This proposal is to design novel teaching methods in cell biology course offered to the second year applied biology students. By combining lectures covering basic cell biology knowledge, cutting edge technology, and current advances with small group discussions on the cell biology literatures, the students will not only gain understanding and knowledge of basic cell biology but also get exposure to the leading edge cell biology research. Most importantly, the students will develop critical literature reading skills and be motivated to pursue the scientific career. |
