Abstract: High-gain and filtering antennas are essential in the applications of millimeter-wave (MMW) and terahertz (THz) technologies. In this project, the high-gain function is implemented by using a transmitarray. The array consists of dielectric lens which focuses the energy of electromagnetic waves from different positions to the centre of the antenna. Meanwhile, a frequency selective surface (FSS) is employed for filtering function, and the passband is supposed to be 57GHz to 64GHz. The structure contains three metallic layers, separated by two thin substrates. The array and FSS are combined with an air gap to avoid coupling effect. Finally, the antenna performs around 29.5 dBi gain at the centre frequency 60 GHz. More than 20 dB shielding effectiveness can be obtained out of the passband for a bandwidth of 7GHz.
