dc.description.abstract | People have so many tasks to manage every day. We will remind ourselves by marking stuffs on schedule book, but more people will choose to manage their tasks in a more convenience way nowadays, like using smartphone or computer. Moreover, many different applications have been developed for providing task management over the Internet. However, each application has its own strength and people may not want to download so much applications for managing the tasks. Therefore, in this software project, I would like to develop one simpler and more convenient management application. The application is planned to be available on both the Android platform and web, with a database for getting the data between the platforms. Login is required because each user has a unique identification for retrieving their own data from database. The Android application was built from the software, "Android Studio", using Java language, while the webpage was using JavaScript language. The online database was connected to two platforms using PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) files with the software using "XAMPP" providing a virtual server. The personal task management application was successful linked to the database with the Android and web platforms. A calendar function was also introduced to the application. However, the design and functions of two platforms were a little bit different from each other. The application has built with basic functions till now. However, some basic functions are missing and the application could be implemented with more functions if putting more time on development, like adding some sub-tasks to one main tasks, sharing tasks with other people, or editing their tasks with more details. The user interface could be also improved under different situation. For example, allowing user to change the theme of the application or background color of the application for catering the needs. | en_US |
