Abstract: | This project is about an application of pattern recognition. The aim of this project is to develop an application about real-time recognition of public transports on smartphone. In this way, elderly and people with blurred vision can be benefitted. Object detection is a computer vision technique that allows us to identify the locate object on images or videos. Buses and minibuses can be detected with ease by this apps. Also, an OCR is performed to identify bus number. The result of bus number will provide a voice output. Building of this application is based on Android platform while the model architecture of object detection is based on SSD MobileNet V2. Open Source TensorFlow Object Detection API are used to train the models and evaluated with it. Offline text recognition is handled with Google Mobile Vision API. |
