In this study, a series of new complexes 1a, 1b and 1c were synthesized produced by using halogen-functionalized alkynes and cis-[Ru(dppm)2Cl2] (dppm = 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane). Analytically pure crystals were collected for ruthenium N-heterocyclic complexes substituted with fluoride, chloride and bromide. But the yields of Ru-complexes were low in reaction using fluorinated and chlorinated ligands. The complexes were well characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The formations of bi-dentate ligand replacing the two chloride ions via vinylidene pathway followed by R-X-M bond formation and resulted in a complex with distorted octahedral geometry.en_US
