The indoor positioning system has been developed and refined in the past few decades. The technology behind varies from WiFi & BLE to ultra-wideband signal. However, the common shortcoming of those products is the lack of altitude data limiting the usage of this kind of positioning application. The lidar-based indoor positioning system consisted of a lidar sensor as the transceiver, two servo motors as the pan & tilt angle bracket base and a computer as the processing core. With the lidar, the recent spotlight of technology, this system could provide all 3D information with only 4cm of measurement error. The all-rounded distance collection not only could achieve the 3D mapping of indoor and indoor moving objection detection but, unlike the camera, also respect the privacy of the target customer. And the system targets the elderly living alone and provides them 24 hours monitoring at home to improve their personal health.en_US
