Abstract: | This project aims to develop a text mining web application. Text mining provides several benefits to society and enterprises. There are some text mining tools online, but most of them did not visualize the result nicely or did not deliver the result to the user efficiently. Better result visualization allows user to understand the result more efficiently. The web application allows users to input a textual input to the back-end server. The front-end web then visualizes the results that are processed by the server. The server handles the input file and performs four text mining functions, including text highlighting, word frequency counter, sentiment analysis, and key-sentences extractor. Those functions are performed or assisted by open-source JavaScript libraries. RESTful is adopted for client-server communication. The client awakes the server to perform text mining by fetching a REST API. The result will be passed back to the client by a JSON file. The client then decodes the JSON result. The decoded data will be visualized and displayed in different ways, like by a bar chart. To conclude, this project aims to perform full-stack web development for a text mining web application. Optimized result visualization for users to understand the result efficiently. |
