Abstract: | This project concerns how to effectively detect an object inside the wall and provide more information on the detected object to the users. Compared to the traditional detector in the market, this project draws the detected object's image, and the user can take the image as a reference to do the wall jobs. The first concern is about the detecting sensor. The proximity switches use as they can detect different materials without contact. The second concern is the drawing image problem related to the first concern since the detector only gives the voltage signal high/low. Data from the detecting sensor is not enough for drawing the shape of the detected object. Thus, a tracking sensor is used to track the sensor's movement and convert it to a 2D coordinate. The third concern is the communication protocol between sensors and computers. Since the project is industrial uses, reliable communication protocols should use such as RS485 to reduce the noise. In the future construction industry, the robot may take over the human job in the future. This project compatible with the ROS. ROS (Robot Operating System) is the most popular robotic system in the world. |
