Abstract: | With the rapid growth of the wireless capacity requirements imposed by the ever-growing demand for higher data rates in the modern mobile network, multiple access scheme and their scheduling policy are the keys to satisfying many delay-sensitive applications. While the traditional orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme serves only a single user in each cell in one time-frequency resource block, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are capable of handling multiple users within a resource block. NOMA is a candidate multiple access techniques for the future development of wireless communication systems that leads to a higher system throughput through a combination of successive interference cancellation and superposition encoding strategies at the receiver and transmitter respectively. In this project, a NOMA system for multi-carrier NOMA to serve uplink users is studied. The proposed user pairing and scheduling (UPaS) algorithm for the existing NOMA scheme in this paper has significantly minimized the maximum completion time of the overall transmission in comparison with OMA and random NOMA pairing, and the shortest processing time (SPT)-based joint user NOMA pairing that is proposed in the previous study. |
