Abstract: A documentary filmmaking project completed in January 2004. The subject was Marc Cuthbert, sailor and adventurer, who in 1997 sailed a traditional Chinese junk from Hong Kong to London. Since then, he's acquired a run-down 76 ft brigantine and an 88 ft racing catamarana and lost the Chinese junk in a violent storm in the Bay of Bengal. The author followed Marc as he grappled with the challenges of restoring his boats, and indulging his passion for sailing. The author is able to include dramatic footage of his original junk sinking in heavy seas just as the crew were being rescued.
