| Abstract: | A simple folded patch antenna fed by an L-shape probe is designed and studied experimentally. The design of this antenna is derivate from the quarter-wave patch antenna shorted by shorting wall. This simple structure antenna attains a projection length reduction of about 30% with reference to the half-wave L-probe patch antenna; moreover it attains 35% impedance bandwidth and a gain of 6dBi. The H-plane cross-polarization level, E-plane beam squint and gain are better than the corresponding shorted quarter-wave patch antennas by about 9dB, 10dB and 3.5dB respectively. |
