Active cooling systems have much better performance than passive system, but they take extra power consumption. The thermoelectric generator powered cooling system could be one kind of self-powered cooling system, which recovery the waste heat by thermo electrics, then drive a fan to actively cool the whole system. This system made part of the waste heat did some work to finally enhancing waste heat dissipation. It sounds like a bit antilog, but in fact by well design and careful components selection, this system works pretty well. At this stage it's already good for cooling high power LED, by further improvement, it could be able to cool other electronic components such as CPU.en_US
