dc.description.abstract | Invention of transmitting electric energy wirelessly has made a new era for the researchers. However, still there hasn’t been proposed any improved prototype or a rigorous expansion for understanding the coupling loose, efficiency calculation and its possible application. It is unavoidable to use loosely-coupled coils and the misalignment of coils causes degradation in power transfer efficiency. This project presents three possible structures in which the number of coils has been increased and connected parallel and orthogonal. A canonical model will be derived to describe the interactions between the coils. Using the canonical model efficiencies will be calculated for each case in rigorous mathematical models and they will be verified by simulations. An experimental prototype has been built to verify the simulated results in which it can allow us to calculate different degrees of lateral and angular misalignments. Both experimental results and simulated theoretical results will be presented and compared. The regions of operating area will be presented for the proposed 3-D coil structure. All these investigations will lay the foundations for the future understanding of more complex loosely-coupled structures. Future directions will be shown to inspire and attract researchers to pay attention in possible applications of the studied structures. | en_US |
