dc.description.abstract | Modified Ba(Zr0.06T0.94)O3–x(Ba0.91Ca0.09)TiO3 was prepared to investigate the relationship between phase transition and piezoelectricity. Phase diagrams, constructed by XRD patterns and temperature dependent dielectric constants, revealed that the first priority of quadruple point formation in BZT–BCT is the critical amount of zirconium. Maximum piezoelectric response (d33 = 262 pC/N and k = 0.379) was found at x = 10 near R–O transition. Compared to conventional Ba(Zr0.2T0.8)O3–x(Ba0.3Ca0.7)TiO3, modified system showed a smaller response and a divergence in the position of phase transition with maximum d33. Such scenario is related to the phase convergence zone that composition near O–T transition in modified system is out of the zone area. This suggested the critical role of phase transition and convergence in piezoelectricity. | en_US |
