dc.description.abstract | This research investigates the optical forces imposed on two coupled nano cylinders spinning at constant speed, by a time-harmonic and linearly polarized electromagnetic wave. We apply full-wave finite element method to compute the optical forces with various system parameters. The main results include how the optical forces vary with respect to the frequency of incoming light, rotating speed of the cylinders and the distance between the cylinders. We observe multiple resonant peaks of optical forces due to the excitation of multipole modes in the cylinders. Also, we uncover the effect of the frequency splitting phenomenon on the optical forces. | en_US |
