Abstract: The article examines the effect of supplier's utilization of its business and political ties on supplier's knowledge acquisition from its distributor and its influence on performance. Topics discussed include managerial ties and knowledge transfer, knowledge acquisition and firm's performance and role of dyadic power structure. It mentions that cooperation between business and politics involve degrees of reciprocity in the social exchange while the existing power structure in business get changed due to introduction of a powerful third-party.
